πŸŽ™οΈ How to get booked on podcasts

Hey, there

This email landed in my inbox on Monday πŸ‘‡

About a year ago I set an intention that I wanted to be on more podcasts and in the last 365 days I've been featured on 34 different podcasts.

...which isn't too shabby considering I had a baby, went on maternity leave and kept up with a busy client work load during that time.

The even crazier thing...
I didn't pitch myself for any of the podcasts I was asked to be a guest on. 🀯

You should totally go listen to
this podcast episode by the way! I think Elizabeth's podcast is the biggest podcast I have been on AND this episode dives deep on how to create a successful online course.

I also personally love Elizabeth's Breakthrough Brand Podcast and have listened since 2019. -->Here's the link for Apple, Spotify. and Youtube.

So how did I get booked on podcasts without pitching?

1. I showed up in the spaces I'm already in and consistently shared value. For me this looks like the communities I'm a part of for different courses I'm in or the software group on Facebook for Kajabi or ThriveCart. When I have time I answer people's questions. I don't pitch myself. I don't spam my services. I just do what I can to help and people remember that.

2. I told business friends my goal to be on more podcasts. If they saw someone who was looking for guests they sometimes shared my name!

3. When I was on a podcast I prepped for the interview, asked what would be helpful for that person's podcast audience and did my best to show up as a quality guest.

4. When the episode came out I shared it with my audience! This showed people that I was actively taking on interviews AND that I would promote the episode too.

I don't think pitching yourself for podcasts is a bad thing. In fact I hope to do more of that someday, but in this season of life it wasn't something I had the capacity for.

I hope this email helps remind you that the small steps matter too!

PS. One final thing here - as part of my episode on The Breakthrough Brand Podcast I'm giving away a free digital product strategy call. These normally cost $350 and my availability for them is super limited.

If you comment on
this reel you'll be entered to win a free coaching call where we can talk through the next steps for you to grow your passive income.

PPS. - Have questions about podcasting (either your own or being on them)? Hit reply - I'm a really open book when it comes to this sort of thing.

Holy Moley Reader,I spent $22,530.97 in my business last year. Yep. Ouch - That’s the real number I pulled off of my spreadsheet. Honestly - this isn’t quite as bad as it sounds. $4,458.07 were fees from Paypal or Stripe which is just a part of doing business. About $5k of the contractor expenses were for a very specific one-time project I did for bigger corporate type of company where I needed to sub-contract out a specific piece of the project. It’s not something I typically do in my biz so...

Hey Reader, I finally published my income report for September 2024. πŸŽ‰ It's super late...I know. In case you didn't know I live in Tampa, Florida and was subjected to the torment of hurricane Milton. We're safe. Our home is safe. We didn't have any damage or flooding minus a few branches falling down, but we did lose power for 6 days. πŸ“· Pic of my baby wayfaring around our house in the dark with a lantern It's amazing how fast you start to go stir crazy with no power (and a 12 month old who...

Hi Reader, I like to do this thing in my life and business where I play a game called: what's working and what's not working. It's a simple way to evaluate your life to help you do less of the stuff that's not working and more of the things that are! Here's my list for this week... WHAT'S WORKING FOR ME: Getting as much help as possible (with business stuff and baby stuff - I think I need outsource MORE things) Working at coffee shops and libraries Paper plates Consistent emails to my list...
